n our day food is fast and empty of nutrition. Jobs are often dehumanizing. The family unit is under constant stress because of an all consuming technology which gobbles up our time. We therefore long for images which can reassure us of the possibility of a life integrated with nature and our fellow man.
This painting is another take on the nobility and beauty of the working Filipina, this time in a provincial setting. This basis for her graceful appearance is the equanimity with which she accepts her work and fits into her environment.
