WALL TEXT
Inspired by a recent trip to Israel, this is a visual metaphor of hope in the struggle between Jews and Palestinians. The Arab head-dress, a kaffiyeh, and a Jewish tallit or prayer shawl “abide” peacefully, even gracefully suspended from the horn of the altar, the place of atonement. A crown of thorns represents the final atonement, the crowning glory and the only possible solution to the enmity between men and nations.
