WALL TEXT
The image of a T'boli (South Cotabato, Southern Mindanao) warrior standing like a sentinel over his environment is somehow noble and tragic at the same time. The two horizontal bamboo stalks, cut down to a manageable size, symbolize the danger of his culture's disappearance. They are echoed by the horizontal sheathed sword, a largely ineffectual means of defense against the forces of barely controllable modern development.
