Rest on the Flight to Egypt (after O. Gentileschi)

Sort of an updated expressionistic take on Gentileschi’s masterpiece depicting the holy family on their way to Egypt for the census. I put the focus on the wise looking donkey because, like with Balaam’s ass, the creation is often more aware of God’s plans that man is.
