WALL TEXT
Taking the form of a banner, this painting presents the image of Paul seated in a jail cell, writing letters that will become the New Testament Epistles. Written across the surface is the phrase, "Question of Conviction," a play on words which reminds the viewer of the promise at the center of our faith---that God uses all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28). The chain and handcuffs, taking the place of traditional decorative tassels, pay homage to Paul's own admonishment to us in Col. 4: 18, "Remember my chains."
