My idea here was to render the Red Sea crossing cited in Psalm 78. The first line of Miriam’s song from Exodus 15 is written in the sky. Overlaying the scene with her tambourine worked well to reinforce both the narrative and composition. The large nose hovering on the horizon poetically suggests God’s pneumatic blessing on His people as well as the means by which He divided the sea.
