Pears with Glass Jug

This rather large still life is from a series that tried to capture the style and feeling of ancient Roman paintings, like those found in Pompeii. I liked their simplicity and earnestness, especially the portraits. They also evoke for me the era of the early church, which often encompasses my subject matter.
