WALL TEXT
As the title suggests, this painting is about a woman who loses a coin and turns the house inside out trying to find it.
In this case, it’s a thatched Filipino provincial home on stilts with a bamboo floor —the family’s animals are kept below.
If the coin has slipped through the floor, she will have to search among the animals, making her job even harder. Would this extra work make her appreciation of the Kingdom, represented by the coin, even greater?
This is but a whimsical idea that came to me as I admired the beauty and ingenious construction of this house, though temporary—since a greater, eternal One awaits in heaven.
