In this image from Exodus 17:11 we see Moses on the mountain above Rephidim where the Israelites are battling the Amalekites.  His arms stretch upward, appealing to God for help and enablement. His head droops backwards in exhaustion. The setting sun casts long shadows onto the valley below where the battle is being waged. If the Israelites are to prevail Moses must keep his hands aloft but the narrator tells us that he no longer has the physical strength. Aaron, his brother-in-law, and Ur, the son of Caleb (the grandfather of Bezalel, who would be one of the artists who worked on the tabernacle) come alongside him and support his arms until the day ends and the battle is won. This is a picture of intercessory prayer.
