WALL TEXT
This painting represents Moses, his face still shining, having returned from Mount Sinai. God remains above, in power and glory, waits for Moses’ return with a second set of tablets—the first set were destroyed by Moses when he saw his people worshipping the golden calf they had crafted.
In the foreground, Bezalel is seated at his workbench. Along with his assistant Oholiab, they were filled with the Holy Spirit and entrusted with the creation of the ark, which appears in the middle ground (Exodus 31:1-6). The trees flanking Moses are the cedars used to build the ark.
