(Jud 6: 19-21, 34, 37-38) Judges chapter 6 begins, “Again the Israelites did evil in the sight of the Lord”. Again, as in Ez 4 and 5, God turns to what we might recognize today as performance art” because, “…you have not listened to me (v. 10)”. This painting is a composite of the altar that God instructed Gideon to set up (The Lord is Peace), the trumpet he blew when the Spirit of the Lord came upon him (v. 34) and the wool fleece with which he confirmed the will of the Lord (v. 37-38).
