Genesis 1:9

Genesis 1:9 reads: And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. 

The underlying concept of this painting is as simple as God’s command is direct. The waters which have gathered into the sea form waves which, like a magician waving his gloved hand, reveals the ground below, in this case the black and red lava-like inscription of Genesis 1:9.
