This is a detail of Christ’s crucifixion—His hand. Saddleback Mountain is our local peak. So I am personalizing and recalling the "Rock of Ages" (Isaiah 26:4) who suffered and died for me. The phrase "deep and wide," as if carved below, refers to the grace He won for us by offering himself on the cross.
