WALL TEXT
Exodus 17:12-14 recounts a battle of the Israelites against the Amalekites, with Moses looking down upon them, his arms raised in supplication to God. When he grew tired and dropped his arms, the Israelites began to lose the battle. However, when Aaron and Hur supported his arms, the battle turned in favor of the Israelites.
Here, I use this image as a metaphor for prayer, fellowship, and encouragement within the Church. I transpose the battlefield into a cane field in the Philippines to give the story contemporary and international appeal, portraying villagers praying for a bountiful harvest.
