Christ's Blood Fulfills the Law

This image depends on quite a bit of theology for interpretation. We see the crucified Christ holding open the two tablets of the law so that the people below who are bathed in his blood might freely enter the New Jerusalem, the Paradise where God’s creation began. This sums up God’s plan of redemption, the Gospel. The wooden cross has itself been replaced by the tree of life and the way to it has been cleared by Christ’s sacrifice which paid the price for sin, the shedding of blood, for all humanity, past, present and future.
