Once again taking Fra Angelico’s masterpiece as a departure point I’ve exchanged color for mood, substituted large Greek letters for the angel, and turned Mary into a Miro-esque vessel for the Holy Spirit which morphs back and forth between a dove and an expressive hand gesture. The surrealistic rendering reinforces the surreal quality of the event.
