My idea was to electrify Rembrandt’s somber masterpiece by using an expressive paint application, intensifying the golden-yellow light source, and inflecting the flesh tones with vibrant colors. Collage elements (a portion of the Lord’s prayer glued to Isaac’s chest) and graffiti-like marks enrich the surface and counterpoint the Biblical narrative.
