WALL TEXT
This is a liturgical piece produced for a sermon on the “Walks” taken by men of faith in the Bible. It’s a fairly literal recounting of the Old Testament story of Abraham, his knife wielding hand caught by an angel at the moment he raises it to kill his only son, Isaac. Two servants wait below with Abraham’s horse, possibly wondering about the prophetic drama taking place higher up on the mountain. God has provided a goat, caught by the horns in a tree, as a substitute sacrifice.
